Am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death (Revelation 1:18).

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

One of the most crucial facts we discussed in our previous study was that Jesus destroyed Satan in hell, not on the cross. The issue of crucifixion was a complete procedure that included Christ’s arrest, death, and burial. His victory on the Cross was giving Himself in obedience, even to death, although Adam disobeyed God: “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous” (Romans 5:19).

Adam did not obey God’s will, but Jesus did. That’s why the Bible says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9), since He was obedient even to death—the death on the Cross. But, as previously indicated, that is not where He vanquished Satan. If He had overcome Satan on the Cross, there would have been no need for Him to descend into hell.

But in hell, He confronted Satan, defeated him, and obtained the keys to hell and death. What does this tell us about Satan? He lacks the authority to kill anyone; else, he would have killed everyone. Jesus immobilized him and granted us dominion over him. “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews 2:14-15).

Do not be terrified of the Devil. If he comes into your room and says, “I’m going to kill you,” jeer at him and say, “Nonsense.” You do not need to quarrel with him. He’s a weak and defeated foe. Glory to God! Understand that when Jesus died, you died with Him, because you were in Him. When He was buried, you were buried alongside Him. When He went to hell, you were with Him. As a result, when He fought Satan and the demons of darkness in hell, you were with Him. That means you overcame Satan and his minions in Hell. It’s a current fact. Blessed be God!

PRAYER

Dear father, I thank you for my triumph in Christ Jesus, through whom I have overcome death, hell, and the grave. I prevail over the elements of this world because Christ has given me authority and dominion over the forces of darkness. In the name of Jesus, I thank you for this magnificent reality. Amen.
