Keep Sowing

Key Verse
βIn the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike goodβ (Ecclesiastes 11:6).
TEXT β Ecclesiastes 11:4-6
Message
A poet wrote, βWhat I gave away I saved, what I spent I used, what I kept I lost. Giving to the Lord is but transporting our goods to a higher floor. In defiance of all the torture and malice and might of the world, the liberal man will ever be rich, for Godβs providence is his estateβ.
Our text instructs us not to observe the wind nor regard the clouds before sowing since man is limited in knowledge to discern the way of the Spirit. King Solomon advises that we sow our seeds in the morning and evening, not slowing down, with assurance that we will definitely reap from the seed sown in the morning or evening and even get double blessings from them both.
God created the world and it runs according to His laws. Many people suffer lack and deprivation in life, not because He is unmindful of their situation but because He is waiting for them to do something to trigger their expected breakthrough. It is the best example of the divine-human partnership, which illustrates the saying that you βreap what you sowβ. For example, God has promised those who forsake earthly ties and things of the world to follow Him hundredfold blessings in this world and in eternity. There must be the human part of sowing before the divine provision of abundant reaping.
Today, our sowing is done with resources such as money, time, talent, skills and services. We sow to the service of God, education of children, self, relatives and friends. We must fulfil the law and not be slow in sowing into these areas as they would ensure future comfort while we await the coming of the Lord.
Thought for the day
Sow without slacking as you await the Lordβs return.
