Key Verse
“Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?” Exodus 2:7
Text — Exodus 2:1-10
Message
Her mother just had a baby, but young Miriam and everyone in the family were sad and confused. This was because the baby was a boy. The king had just made a law that all their new baby boys must be killed. Trusting God, Miriam’s mother put the baby in a basket and hid it among the grass by the river. Miriam kept watch afar off. King Pharaoh’s daughter found the baby crying. She had pity on him and chose to keep him alive. Courageously, Miriam went to her, and offered to help get a Hebrew nurse for the baby. She agreed, and the baby’s mother was whom she brought. Pharaoh’s daughter named the baby Moses. Moses grew up to become one of God’s greatest servants.
The following attributes and actions describe the life of Miriam, Moses’ big sister.
M – Member of God’s chosen family.
I – Involved in caring for her younger brother.
R – Ready vessel for the preservation of Israel’s deliverer and lawgiver.
I – Inner godly character.
A – Available for God’s use.
M – Mouth piece of the Almighty.
Like Miriam, you need to be obedient to and assist your parents. Have faith in God’s provision and be courageous to do what is right. Never see any problem as impossible to solve, because God can do all things.
