TOPIC: Understanding Passionate Praying (Seeds Of Destiny 7 February 2025)

SCRIPTURE: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Passionate prayer is a prayer offered with intensity, seriousness, and focus.

Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

Passion and fervency of heart have been identified as one of the primary causes driving effective prayer. For prayer to be answered, it must be offered with zeal and emotion. James 5:16 says, “Confess your faults to one another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed.”

A righteous man’s effective and sincere prayer yields great results. This Scripture teaches us that prayer must be intense, passionate, and effective in order to bring results. Romans 12:11 emphasizes this principle: “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.”

So, what is Passionate Prayer?

Passionate prayer is expressed with passion, earnestness, and focus. It is not necessary about shouting or physically shaking, but about the spiritual force and energy that drives the prayer. Passionate prayer is significant in the spiritual sphere.

Example: Hannah’s Prayer

Hannah’s prayer (1 Samuel 1:11-13) is a vivid illustration of passionate, ardent, and spirit-filled prayer.

“And she vowed a vow, saying, “O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.”

And as she continued to pray to the LORD, Eli marked her mouth. Now Hannah spoke in her heart; just her lips moved, but her voice was not heard; thus Eli assumed she was drunk.” Hannah’s prayer was not loud or theatrical, yet it was full of deep spiritual intensity and power.

It was the type of prayer that stirred heaven, capturing divine attention. Understand that passionate, impassioned prayer is prayer with spiritual vigour. It is focused, intense, and serious, resulting in impressive outcomes. If you want answers to your prayers, make sure they are delivered with fervency and passion.

Remember this: passionate prayer is prayer delivered with intensity, sincerity, and emphasis.

1. Make up your mind to pray passionately and fervently.
2. Put your whole mind and heart in prayer whenever you pray.
