Fake “Hallelujah Challenge” Stream on YouTube Prompts Warning from Nathaniel Bassey

A fraudulent YouTube channel masquerading as the “Hallelujah Challenge” has been discovered, prompting a public warning from gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey. The channel, which was live-streaming content, included a link soliciting donations, a practice Bassey has explicitly denounced.The authentic “Hallelujah Challenge,” a popular online praise and worship event, is a ministry led by Nathaniel Bassey. Bassey himself alerted his followers to the scam via social media, urging them to report the fake channel to YouTube.

“Please help REPORT this page,” Bassey wrote. “It is streaming the Hallelujah challenge and has a link asking for money. THIS IS NOT OF GOD. But a pure SCAM.” He emphasized the repeated attempts to have the channel taken down and appealed for mass reporting to expedite the process.The fraudulent stream, which featured the title “Day 5: Hallelujah Challenge Feb 15,” had garnered over 2,000 viewers at the time of discovery.

The channel also displayed content mimicking the official “Hallelujah Challenge,” including the title “INTERCESSIONS PRAYERS, WARFARE, ALIGNMENT” and links to what appears to be a separate website.This incident highlights the growing problem of online scams exploiting religious events and personalities. Authorities are urging individuals to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of online ministries and donation requests before engaging. Nathaniel Bassey and his team are reportedly working with YouTube to have the fraudulent channel removed and are encouraging followers to only engage with the official “Hallelujah Challenge” platforms.
