Key Verse
“And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so” (2 Kings 2:10).

Text — 2 Kings 2:1-13
Message
The invention of the electric bulb by Thomas Edison was indeed a breakthrough in the field of science. Through the invention, he took the world to another level, but not without some cost. He broke through after many failed attempts with sacrifice of time, energy and resources – he paid the price to accomplish the great feat. Nothing worthwhile in life comes without some sacrifice! You cannot become a great achiever if you are a lover of pleasure and unwilling to let go of many youthful excesses. Achievers worldwide have always been people who are diligent, disciplined and determined.

Elisha got the double portion of Elijah’s anointing and power because he refused to be distracted by the sons of the prophets who had no plan to excel. He persevered and eventually had the opportunity to make his request: ‘Let the double portion of thy spirit be upon me.’ He asked for the double portion, not earthly riches – he got it! If you pay the price of diligence and determination, you’ll be an achiever!
