LAGOS, NIGERIA — In a dramatic turn of events on Sunday, December 28, 2025, Pastor Chris Okafor, the Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries (Grace Nation), publicly knelt before his congregation to offer a formal apology to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala.
The gesture follows weeks of a high-profile scandal involving allegations of a breached marriage promise, and emotional manipulation.
According to a video shared by CHUCKS on X (Twitter), During the Sunday service, a video of which has since gone viral, the cleric took to the pulpit to address the “mistakes” of the past. In a rare act of public humility, Okafor descended from the pulpit and knelt on the floor before the church members.
“Mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender a public apology to Doris Ogala and everyone I may have offended. I am not perfect; I have never been perfect. Forgive me. You can judge me. Pray for me.”
Despite the emotional apology, the pastor maintained a firm stance on the nature of the accusations. He reiterated that while he sought forgiveness for his personal failings, many of the specific allegations leveled against him were “lies” and “untrue.”
