Nigerian gospel artist AkuGod has unveiled his latest powerful single, “Obinigwe.” The track, whose Igbo title translates to “Father/God in heaven,” serves as a profound expression of the artist’s gratitude and reverence towards the divine, intimately reflecting his personal journey, unwavering faith, and spiritual calling.
AkuGod articulated the song’s significance, stating, “Obinigwe is more than just a song. It’s a reflection of my personal relationship with God, a testimony of His grace and greatness in my life. It’s a sound that connects spirit to Spirit, and I hope it becomes an anthem of hope for many.”
Born Stephen Ejike Oriaku, AkuGod’s roots trace back to Imo State, though he was born in Kano and raised in a Christian household as one of five children. His musical journey commenced in his early teenage years during secondary school, where he co-founded the group MEC Rhymes with friends Marcus and Christopher.
