The Topic of Rhapsody of Realities is “Being Baptized Into Christ”.
Today’s Scripture: Colossians 1:27
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
When a person comes to Christ, they are baptized into Him. This is a spiritual experience that happens when the Holy Spirit receives the person into Christ. It is also referred to as the new birth or being born again.
The second experience of being born again is receiving the Holy Spirit to dwell in you. This happens when you ask Jesus Christ into your heart and life. When you do this, the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of you.
These two experiences are often separated by time. For example, the disciples were born again on the day of Pentecost, but they did not receive the Holy Spirit until later.
However, it is also possible to experience both of these things at the same time. This is what happened to the Apostle Paul when he was converted on the road to Damascus.
No matter when or how it happens, being born again is a life-changing experience. It is when we become a new creation in Christ. We are forgiven of our sins and made right with God. We are also given the Holy Spirit to help us live a victorious Christian life.
Here are some Bible verses that talk about being born again:
- 1 Corinthians 12:13 – For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
- Acts 17:28 – ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
- Galatians 3:27 – for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
If you have not yet been born again, I encourage you to pray and ask Jesus Christ into your heart and life. He will forgive your sins and give you the gift of eternal life.
