Key Verse
“My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.” Proverbs 1:10
Text — Proverbs 1: 10- 16
Message
The dictionary defined enticement as “to lead away from a usual or proper course by offering some pleasure or advance.” Sometimes ago, a little boy named Peter was playing in front of his house while his parents were inside. Suddenly, he noticed that a big boy was stylishly riding a bicycle along the road and he got attracted to the boy’s style of riding.
The rider noticed him and invited him to come and take a ride with him. The little boy completely forgot his parents’ warning not to follow a stranger – he joined the boy.
The rider took him far away from home. During the ride, the bigger boy stopped in front of a shop and pretended that he wanted to buy some snacks. He did not have money so he stole the snacks, jumped on his bike and rode away. Peter was left in front of the shop and the owner held him down. He did not know the boy’s name or where he came from. Peter found himself in a place he did not know and he started crying and pleading with the shop owner to let him go. He said he did not know the boy’s name or where he came from, but they did not believe him. He was beaten very well by the shop owner before allowing him to go.
Peter learnt of the danger of being enticed by strangers/evil in a hard way. If he had remembered his parents’ several counsels, he would not have fallen into the trap. Obedience to parental godly instruction is very good; it will save you from getting into trouble.
