Their hearts were not loyal to him, they were not faithful to his covenant. Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Time after time he restrained his anger and did not stir up his full wrath. He remembered that they were but fleshβ¦. Psalm 78:37-39 (NIV)
The scriptures for today should be absorbed deeply into your spirit if you are experiencing feelings of guilt because of something that you have done wrong. Being merciful, God forgives us even though we do not deserve to be forgiven. He does this because He is merciful. That God recalls that we are “but flesh” is a remark that I find absolutely beautiful. Not only is He aware of our shortcomings, but He also comprehends them. As a matter of course, He anticipates that we will acknowledge and turn away from our sins, and when we do so, He will show us mercy. If you are in need of mercy and forgiveness right now, you will receive it.
Regardless of who you are or what you have done, God loves you right now for who you are and what you have done. Despite the fact that He may not approve of all you do, He will never stop loving you. Your brokenness can be healed by the love of God. It is a gift that you should accept without question and be grateful for. Extending the same mercy and forgiveness that God has shown to you to other people is one way that you can demonstrate your happiness and thankfulness.
The prayer of the day is as follows: Father, I am grateful to You for Your forgiveness and mercy. Additionally, please assist me in being merciful and quick to forgive.
