Text — Esther 7:1-10
Message
Esther and Mordecai were the co-protagonists in the Book of Esther while Haman was the sole antagonist. Haman was an archetype of Satan. He was proud and conceited, seeking honour and glory for himself. He was evil and malicious, plotting mischief for others. He was wicked and vengeful, seeking to eliminate not only Mordecai but also all the Jews. He pursued his wicked agenda to a logical conclusion and ended up hanging on the gallows he prepared for Mordecai.
We have many good lessons to learn from this bad character. One of which is his sad ending, showing the law of divine exchange. It is the supernatural punishment of a person or group of people by God in place of those they plan to hurt. “Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him” (Proverbs 26:27). The men who plotted mischief against Daniel ended up in the lion’s den. The Bible says, “…therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life” (Isaiah 43:4). God has a policy of divine exchange. Fear Him!
