Tonto Dikeh Abandons “King” Title, Rebrands as Evangelist Following Spiritual Rebirth

In a major personal and spiritual shift, Nollywood actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh has officially announced that she will no longer be addressed by her long-standing moniker, “King Tonto.” In a video shared with her followers on Monday, March 2, 2026, the actress declared a new chapter in her life, requesting to be addressed as Evangelist Tonto Dikeh or Auntie Tonto.

The transition marks the end of an eight-year era that began in 2018 when she famously changed her name to “King Tonto” following her separation from ex-husband Olakunle Churchill. Speaking on the change, the actress emphasized that the decision was not a mere cosmetic rebranding but a move made in strict obedience to the Holy Spirit. She described the timing as symbolic, noting that the announcement aligns with a spiritual prophecy for the month of March, representing a journey from “a mess to a message.”

This announcement follows a series of significant spiritual milestones for the actress, including her recent graduation from a discipleship program at Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International. Her path toward “spiritual realignment” has also seen her making headlines for public reconciliations, including burying a decade-long hatchet with her ex-husband earlier this year.According to the actress, the public may now use several approved titles, including Woman of God, Lady Evangelist Tonto Dikeh, or simply Big T.

She reiterated that while the “King” title once represented a sense of personal strength and authority, she is now moving away from the past and into a new “morning” of divine direction and peace.
