The Gospel Music Association announced the nominations for the 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards: Brandon Lake leads the nominations with sixteen, including Artist of the Year. Jeff Pardo garnered 11 nominations, while Chris Brown, Chandler Moore, and Jonathan Smith each received 10.CeCe Winans and Naomi Raine are the top female candidates, with five each.
Tauren Wells, host of the GMA Dove Awards, announced the nominees earlier this Wednesday morning on SiriusXM The Message. The 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards, presented in cooperation with the Cantinas Arts Foundation, will take place on October 1, 2024, at the Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be shown exclusively on TBN and TBN+ Friday, as well as simulcast on SiriusXM The Message on October 4, 2024 at 8pm and 10pm ET. A re-broadcast will be shown on TBN and TBN+ on Friday, October 11th, at 8 and 10 p.m. ET.
“I love this moment each year when we get to announce our nominees,” says GMA President Jackie Patillo. “The Dove Awards are about sharing the message of our music with the world and recognizing the incredible musicians, songwriters, producers, and film and television creators in our community. I’m very excited about this year’s candidates and can’t wait to celebrate in October.”
The theme for the 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards is “Unite The Song.” “Unite the song is a heart cry for God’s people to come together in unity,” explains host Tauren Wells. “We get to come together out of our individual corners, from each different stream within the church, to unite around this one song, holy holy holy is the Lord God Almighty.”
The GMA Professional Membership voted on this year’s nominations, which were picked from over 2,500 entries. The last round of voting will take place on August 1st through August 8th, 2024. For more information on the 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards, go to https://doveawards.com.
