Gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey has announced a 16-day period of evening fasting and prayers ahead of the October 2026 edition of the Hallelujah Challenge, themed “The Lord Reigns.”
The fasting and prayer programme is scheduled to run from September 14 to September 29, 2026, with participants fasting daily from 6:00 PM to 9:00 AM.
The announcement was made as preparations begin for the upcoming October edition of the Hallelujah Challenge, one of the widely followed online praise and worship gatherings led by Nathaniel Bassey.
According to the announcement, the period is specifically for members of the “evening fast crew” to join together in seeking God through fasting and prayer.
16 Days of Fasting and Prayer
Participants will observe the fast each day from 6PM, breaking at 9AM the following morning.
The 16-day programme will provide an opportunity for believers to dedicate time to prayer and spiritual preparation as they look forward to the October Hallelujah Challenge.
The flyer carries the theme “The Lord Reigns,” pointing to the central focus of the upcoming edition: acknowledging the sovereignty and reign of God.
Rather than waiting until the Hallelujah Challenge begins in October, participants are being encouraged to prepare spiritually through a dedicated period of fasting and prayer.
Hallelujah Challenge Returns in October
The upcoming edition is branded the October ’26 Edition of the Hallelujah Challenge and carries the theme “The Lord Reigns.”
The Hallelujah Challenge has become known for bringing believers together from different parts of the world for extended periods of praise, worship and prayer, with Nathaniel Bassey leading the sessions.
For those participating in the September fast, the period serves as a time to seek God, pray and prepare their hearts ahead of the October gathering.
With the fasting beginning on September 14, participants have been invited to join the 16-day journey and remain consistent through September 29.
The countdown to another Hallelujah Challenge has officially begun, but before the songs of praise take centre stage in October, participants are being called to a season of fasting, prayer and spiritual preparation.
