Deeper Life Ministry Issues Strong Warning Over Political Misinformation

The Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) has released a strong official statement condemning the malicious use of its General Superintendent’s name in fabricated political news.

The statement, issued by Pastor William F. Kumuyi‘s office, addressed a recent entirely false news report circulated by an online platform named “Ibômfocus.”

Condemnation of False Report

The DCLM condemned the malicious report in the “strongest terms,” highlighting the fabricated nature of the story, which bore the headline: “America is Trying to Steal our Natural Resources; There is No Christian Genocide in Nigeria, says Pastor Kumuyi.”

The statement clarified that the story is “a total fabrication and the figment of the imagination of its authors.”

The Ministry confirmed that Pastor Kumuyi did not address a press conference or make the alleged statement in Lagos. Furthermore, it noted that the General Superintendent has been away from Nigeria for a considerable length of time, conducting programs in the Oceania region and the Far East.

Commitment to Gospel, Not Politics

The official release emphasized Pastor Kumuyi’s steadfast focus on his spiritual mission:

“Pastor Kumuyi is well known for focusing entirely on preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He does not dabble into politics, as the false story mentioned above seemed to suggest.”

Warning Issued

The Ministry concluded with a stern warning to those responsible for attempting to drag the spiritual leader into political discourse:

“The Ministry warns all those bent on mischief by seeking to drag our General Superintendent into politics, or fabricating stories in his name, to desist from such venture. In the future, any such activity may attract action.”

The statement signals a firm stance by the DCLM against the proliferation of religious and political misinformation.
