Adeboye Breaks Silence, Advises Tinubu on What To Do Amid Trump’s Threat

Lagos, Nigeria – The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has sent an urgent public message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging immediate and strategic action following the recent threat by former United States President Donald Trump regarding alleged Christian persecution in Nigeria.

Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption City Campground on Friday, November 7, Pastor Adeboye called on the Federal Government to prioritize diplomacy and deliver decisive results on security.

A 100-Day Diplomatic Window

Pastor Adeboye’s central suggestion to the government focused on buying crucial time to address the insurgency:

“If I were asked to make suggestions, I will say quietly to our government: move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely. Find a way to convince the President of America to please delay his actions for about a hundred days.”

The revered cleric stressed the critical need for a diplomatic engagement with the U.S. to prevent external escalation that could endanger the nation.490-Day Deadline for Security ChiefsAdeboye advised that the 100-day diplomatic window must be immediately followed by decisive internal action. He urged President Tinubu to issue a clear ultimatum to the nation’s security architecture:

“Then come home and tell our security chiefs: get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign.”

He further pressed the government to go beyond fighting the terrorists themselves and target their sponsors, regardless of their influence, noting that a similar directive issued to a former administration was not fully followed through.

The message underscores the pressure on the Tinubu administration to swiftly tackle insecurity following the heightened international scrutiny.
