Nigerian gospel music sensation, Moses Bliss, has taken to social media to address claims that his success is attributed to a privileged upbringing. In a candid post, the artist detailed his journey from hawking sachet water and selling Christmas caps to becoming a celebrated gospel singer.
Bliss refuted the assertion that his life was “easy,” sharing stories of selling goods in markets across Abuja and even assisting his mother by selling leaves until 2016, when he won a singing competition. He emphasized that during these challenging times, he remained dedicated to his faith, attending church regularly and always striving to look his best, despite wearing “Okrika suits” (second-hand clothing).
“Someone said life was easy for me because I had a good well to do background and family help,” Bliss wrote, before recounting his experiences. He further revealed that even while hawking and selling, he prioritized his musical development, rehearsing, practicing, praying, and fasting. The gospel star attributed his success to a relentless drive and a refusal to accept failure. “Something in me wouldn’t just accept failure! I hated my condition that’s why I did something about it by giving myself to constant self-development, mental and spiritual transformation,” he stated.
Bliss also highlighted his commitment to learning and personal growth, emphasizing that he chose to learn through “exploration” and “knowledge” rather than solely through experience. He concluded his post by asserting his unwavering work ethic, claiming that those who knew him from his early days would attest to his passion and dedication.
The post has resonated with many of his followers, who have praised his honesty and resilience. Moses Bliss’s story serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that success is often born from hard work, perseverance, and a strong belief in oneself, regardless of one’s background.
