Steve Crown, whose real name is Okeke Steve Uche Okolo, is a prominent Nigerian gospel music minister, recording artist, songwriter, and music producer. He was born on 27th September, 1990 into a family of six in Benue State, Nigeria.
His father, a preacher, encouraged his early interest in music.Steve Crown’s passion for music began at a young age. By the age of eight, he was already singing in the choir of his local Anglican church, St. John’s Anglican Church. Later, he became a member of a popular children’s club known as Deacon Kids Band.He has shared the stage with numerous renowned gospel artists and has ministered in various concerts and crusades.
He has also served as a music director for several choirs and singing groups.Unlike many artists who build their careers through multiple releases, Steve Crown gained widespread recognition with his debut single, “You Are Great,” released around 2015. This song became a massive hit in the gospel music industry in Nigeria and beyond, establishing him as a celebrated gospel singer.
His inspiration for this impactful song came from his reflections on the magnificence of God and the mystery of creation. He has stated that the Holy Spirit is his main source of inspiration. Since then, Steve Crown has released several other popular songs that have become global anthems, including: “You Are Yahweh”, “All the Glory”, “Mighty God”, ” Angels Bow”, “We Wait On You”, Imela”, “Hosanna”, “Ayaaaa”
