Prominent Nigerian video director TG Omori has joined a viral social media debate, crediting the church for funding and advising his career. Responding to a question about the benefits of religion, Omori shared a personal testimony about how the church provided him with a platform to discover his talent.
In a post that was shared by instablog on social media, Omori wrote, “The Church funded and advised me to pick up a career in filmmaking, the church gave me a platform to discover my acting and directing skills…”. He also acknowledged the frustrations of some, adding, “I know everyone have their frustrations and augments but please give the church a breathing space.” The director also noted that his total offerings over ten years did not amount to the 20,000 Naira his father would spend on beer in a year, further emphasizing the church’s impact on his life.
