LAGOS, NIGERIA — Marie Bliss, the British-Nigerian lawyer and wife of gospel singer Moses Bliss, has officially ventured into children’s literature with her debut book, “The Hair You Were Created With.”The book is described as a “celebration of natural hair for princesses everywhere.” It follows the story of a young girl named Yaa, whose parents teach her to embrace the unique beauty of her curls and kinks. By framing natural hair as a “divine masterpiece” and an extension of creativity, the story seeks to instill confidence and self-love in children from a young age.
According to the author, the concept for the book began as an idea years ago. She credited her husband, Moses Bliss, for his unwavering support in helping her bring the manuscript to completion. The release marks a significant personal milestone for Bliss, who has often spoken about her passion for inspiring the next generation through storytelling and affirmation.
Officially set for release on February 9, 2026, the 36-page picture book is already gaining traction through pre-orders on major platforms like Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
