Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Mercy Chinwo’s Manager Over Alleged $345,000 Fraud

The Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an arrest warrant for Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the manager of renowned gospel singer Mercy Chinwo. This action follows a petition filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleging that Onyedikachukwu misappropriated approximately $345,000 from Chinwo’s earnings.

Justice Alexander Owoeye granted the warrant on Thursday after hearing an ex parte motion filed by the EFCC. The agency alleges that Onyedikachukwu diverted royalties from Chinwo’s digital platforms and event appearances without remitting her share.

Efforts by the EFCC to apprehend Onyedikachukwu have been unsuccessful, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant. The court has adjourned the matter to January 24, 2025, for the manager’s arraignment.

This news has generated significant buzz on social media, with many expressing shock and concern over the allegations.
