Miracle Escape: Bolasodun Survives Devastating House Fire Just Minutes Before Building Collapses

LAGOS — A harrowing morning turned into a story of divine survival for a local family after a fast-moving fire leveled their home on Friday, September 19.

The homeowner, known as Bolasodun, shared a chilling first-hand account of the incident, describing how she narrowly escaped a blaze that consumed all their earthly possessions in less than 30 minutes.

A Narrow EscapeThe fire broke out while Bolasodun was asleep, shortly after her husband had left for work. She recounted waking up to what she thought was a “knock on the door” during a dream, only to find her closet engulfed in flames.”

I actually thought it was something I could try to quench,” she said, describing her initial confusion and frantic attempts to stop the fire. “I even fell down twice while trying.”The situation turned critical as the fire started near the only exit of her bedroom. Had she remained inside for even a few moments longer, she would have been trapped on the second floor of the burning building.

A “Voice” from the Street

The turning point came when an unidentified bystander on the street behind the house began screaming for residents to evacuate.

“Run out of your house! If you’re in the white house, please out now!”Prompted by the warning, Bolasodun grabbed her phone and a single dress, fleeing the house barefoot. Within minutes of her escape, the family watched as their home and everything inside was reduced to ashes.

“Life is the Most Valuable Asset”

Reflecting on the tragedy three months later, the family remains remarkably grateful. While they lost their home, they managed to save their vehicle, and most importantly, their lives. Bolasodun expressed profound relief that their children were not home at the time of the blaze.

“I thank God that indeed, our lives don’t consist of the abundance of things we possess,” she shared. “My most valuable asset, my life, was preserved.”

The cause of the fire has not been publicly disclosed, but the family is using their story to testify to their faith and the “miracle” of their survival.
