Renowned actress Ekene Umenwa has revealed that she was once advised by a group within Nollywood to abandon her Christian beliefs in exchange for career success. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Umenwa recounted the intense pressure she faced from these unnamed individuals during her early career.

Despite the significant temptation, she stated that she remained steadfast in her faith, choosing instead to turn to Jesus, whom she refers to as her Father, for strength and comfort.

In her caption she wrote:“When I came to Nollyhood years ago I was told by some folks drop this your Jesus and Mary and move with the flow so you can make itMe : chimo is that so?
