EFCC Chairman Commends Pastor Jerry Eze After Six-Month Financial Investigation

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has publicly cleared Pastor Jerry Eze of any financial impropriety following an extensive six-month investigation into his ministry’s finances.

Speaking at the Jerry Eze Foundation Business Grant Award Ceremony in Abuja, Olukoyede revealed that the anti-graft agency had discreetly monitored the cleric for half a year under suspicion of money laundering. The investigation was reportedly prompted by the massive daily financial inflows associated with the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD).

“I investigated this man for six months for money laundering,” Olukoyede stated during the event. He noted that the scrutiny ultimately proved the funds were legitimate donations from followers worldwide and were being used for significant philanthropic efforts, including the multi-million naira business grants being awarded to entrepreneurs at the ceremony.

The EFCC boss expressed his satisfaction with the transparency of the foundation’s operations, citing the ministry as an example of financial integrity within religious organizations. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of grants to several small business owners, further highlighting the foundation’s commitment to community empowerment.
